A: Did you hear that Sam and Margaret got back together?

B: Wow! I didn't even know they'd split up! It shows you how out of touch I am.

A: Well, they had this major falling out about two months ago, and they separated. But it looks like they've patched things up.

B: Good. They're a nice couple. I hope things work out for them.

A: Me too. So, how's your family?

B: Not bad, but we've been having some trouble with our son.

A: Really? What kind of trouble?

B: Well, he's been acting up in school. You know, talking back to his teachers, not doing his homework.

A: Eric? I can't believe it! He's always been so well-behaved!

B: Well, I told him he's grounded until he shapes up. No movies, no games, no trips to the mall.

A: Smart move. Eric's a good kid, but you don't want him to ruin into a troublemaker.
